Thompson Family Law Solicitors are registered with the Scottish Legal Aid Board (SLAB) to provide Legal Aid. There are various types of Legal Aid available, depending upon the type of legal issue that you have and the stage that particular legal issue has reached.
The majority of cases which concern a matter of Scottish Law can be dealt with by way of Legal Aid funding, with a limited number of exceptions, where Legal Aid is not available. Legal Aid is also available to clients who do not reside in Scotland, provided that the particular issue concerns a matter of Scottish Law.
The majority of clients will qualify for some type of Legal Aid funding. It is also quite common for clients to qualify for Legal Aid, where they do not consider that they would be eligible.
Civil Law and Family Law cases can be funded by Civil Legal Advice and Assistance or Civil Legal Aid. Child Law cases can be funded by Children’s Legal Advice and Assistance or Children’s Legal Aid.
